Back to School!

We are so excited for this year. We have so much that is happening. If you are able to, join us on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Library in La Grange for our Back to School Meeting. This is open to families that are interested in learning more about our co-op. We are very grateful for the ways that God has brought so many wonderful families to our group.

We have published a lot of information on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/GreaterVisionTeamSchool

This site is new and we are trying our best to keep it updated as well. Greater Vision Team School is an academic homeschool co-op that has been around for over 12 years. Our program ensures that your children will be amply prepared for high school if they choose to go the public school route. However, we are able to add high school classes to our co-op this Fall. It is so exciting. The highlighted items on the chart below are the ones that we will be covering this school year, 2022-2023.

There is the opportunity to join us for electives after lunch. The first elective begins at 1:00pm on Tuesdays, our co-op day. This Fall, we are offering Archery, PreK Choir, Western Art Class, and How to Play... the second elective period will have the same choices except the littles will have Free Play instead of Choir. This way we can divide the students up based on age-appropriate groups.

It's Official

Our school year has ended! It was a phenomenal year. We doubled in size this year, decided to add High School for next year, and have more families wanting to join. God is so good! It is so exciting to see how he has brought our group together. He keeps me in awe of how different each one of us is, yet we are all one in Him.

We have added information to Facebook, I am working really hard to make sure that this stays up to date. We plan to have some park days this summer. I will work on getting those scheduled this week. We communicate through GroupMe. I have created a Summer GroupMe for ease for new families wanting to know more.

This week, we included this information on our Facebook Page. If you have any questions, I am happy to help. In all honesty, sending me a text message is probably best. 972-375-4691.

    FB POST:

GVTS is an academic homeschool co-op that has been around for more than a decade. Our program ensures that your student will be amply prepared for high school. Many of our program graduates have gone on to have very successful high school careers in homeschool, public school, and dual credit programs. The topics highlighted in this chart shows what we will be covering in the 2022/23 school year.

We will be offering the following electives this school year after lunch, starting at 1:00pm.

1st Period:
Prek/1st - Choir
2nd-4th - Archery
5th - up - Western Art (with intent to enter the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest)
2nd-up - Games
2nd Period:
PreK/1st - Playground
2nd - 4th - Western Art (with intent to enter the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest)
5th - up - Archery (with intent to enter the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest)
2nd-up - Games

The following is our curriculum. Those highlighted are what we are studying this year.

As for the High School, we are offering Chemistry with Lab, IEW Writing Program 'Elegant Essays', and a monitored Study Hall with Tutoring available. If you are needing more information in regards to High School, please contact me directly 972-375-4691.

We are having to instill a no device policy for all of those not in High School. We are a conservative Christian Group so we ask all to dress accordingly. Keeping in mind, we are outside a lot so proper footwear is recommended. We require students to be polite and respectful.

We look forward to another great year.

Our First Open House

 April 1, 2022

Happy April Fools! My kids are having so much fun with this holiday. I don't get it, but they are tickled pink playing tricks on their dad.

My name is KJ Toombs, I am the current director for Greater Vision Team School. We have been trying to get our information posted for new families to know what we offer as well as how our Co-Op works. We are different from many. For example, we are brand new to blogging. I really hope that this allows others to find out what we are up to and how you can get involved. I plan to keep our calendar updated for public events. These are not very often, but with the new demand for homeschooling, we have received a lot of questions as to who we are and what we do.

I have put some details on the Academic side of our group. We offer Electives in the afternoon after lunch. You do not have to attend the Academics portion in order to participate in the Electives.

I have been trying to get this information up for a while now. We are hosting an Open House this Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 8:30. This is something that we have not done in the past, but hoping that it helps new families. Please contact me at 972-375-4691, if you decide to visit so we are prepared with enough things for your family.

We are so excited to share our new journey with you and your family. Please keep in mind that we are a Christian Homeschool Co-Op. Our Curriculum is Biblically based and our rules and morals are Christian based.

I am hoping to have a live Calendar running as well as a spot for questions. I am very new to this so please bear with me as I try this new blogging thing. Just joking, I know blogging has been going on for a while.
